Knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is one of the most common degenerative joint diseases among leg diseases,which seri-ously affects the daily life activities and quality of life of middle-aged and elderly people.Heat-sensitive moxibustion can stim-ulate the endogenous thermal effect of the human body through moxibustion heat,reduce pain,improve the function of knee joint activities,promote local blood circulation,inhibit inflammatory factors,regulate chondrocyte apoptosis,and improve the quality of life of patients.The clinical efficacy of thermal moxibustion in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis is remarkable,but the mecha-nism of action is not clear.In this paper,a comprehensive overview of the mechanism of action of thermal moxibustion in the treat-ment of osteoarthritis of the knee is presented through the collation of relevant literature,with a view to providing diagnostic and therapeutic ideas for the further treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee and knee joint diseases,and at the same time,to promote and develop the thermal moxibustion therapy.
