Objective To understand the current situation,hotspots and development trends of research in the field of cognitive frailty(CF)in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and to provide reference for future related research.Method CNKI database was searched for articles on TCM treat CF from January 1,2013 to October 1,2023,and CiteSpace 6.2.R4 software was applied to visualize and analyze the number of publications,authors,institutions,and keywords.Results A total of 301 literatures were included.The visualization analysis revealed that the number of articles published in the field of CF research in TCM showed an overall increasing trend.The author with the highest number of articles was Li Yi.The institution with the highest number of arti-cles was the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.The high-frequency keywords included frailty,TCM,and the elderly.The keyword clustering analysis yielded a total of 10 clusters.The evolution pathway could be clas-sified into three phases:etiology and pathogenesis discussion stage,TCM prevention and treatment stage and personalized treat-ment stage.Conclusion The popularity of research in the field of CF in TCM is increasing,but the cooperation between research authors and research institutions is still scattered.The contents of TCM physical conditioning for older adults with CF,the clini-cal efficacy of TCM treatment of CF,and TCM theory research are the research hotspots and trends in this field.In the future,researchers should actively explore the treatment of CF with TCM and develop a set of TCM physical conditioning programs suit-able for older adults with CF.
