Progress in the Treatment of Diabetic Nephropathy with Traditional Chinese Medicine Based on Metabonomics
Traditional Chinese medicine has its unique advantages in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy due to its charac-teristics of multi-component,multi-target and multi-pathway.However,due to its complex components,pharmacology and mechanism of action are still unclear.Metabolomics is an emerging discipline developed after genomics and proteomics.It is de-signed to study the metabolites and metabolic pathways of the body as a whole and dynamically reflect the metabolic characteris-tics of organisms.It is highly consistent with the holistic concept of"syndrome differentiation and treatment"of traditional Chi-nese medicine,and provides a new method and approach for the prevention and treatment of diabetic nephropathy by traditional Chinese medicine.In this paper,we reviewed the progress of studies on the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in treating dia-betic nephropathy based on metabonomics technology in recent years,in order to provide evidence for clinical practice.
