The role of autophagy in gastrointestinal motility disorders and the progress of herbal intervention
Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders(GMD)is a group of disorders caused by gastrointestinal motility disorders, which have a high global incidence and a wide range of diseases, and seriously affect the physical and mental health of patients. The pathological mechanism of this disease is not fully understood, and is closely related to dysmotility, hypersensitivity and met-abolic disorders, among which dysmotility is the main pathological basis of GMD.Cellular autophagy is a protective mechanism to maintain energy metabolic homeostasis and internal environment stability by removing damaged organelles and abnormal proteins.A large number of studies have confirmed that autophagy plays a key role in the pathogenesis of GMD,and TCM can regulate sev-eral autophagy-related signaling pathways such as PI3 K/AKT/mTOR、Pink1/Parkinto inhibit autophagy in gastrointestinal cells and play a role in protecting gastrointestinal cells and restoring gastrointestinal motility, which is becoming a potential therapeutic strategy for GMD.At present,Chinese medicine has made good progress in treating GMD by regulating autophagy, but it has not been systematically elaborated. Therefore, this paper provides a systematic summary of the correlation between autophagy and GMD and the mechanism of action of TCM in regulating autophagy to intervene in GMD,aiming to provide new thinking for the treatment of GMD and new drug development in TCM.
