As one of the characteristic therapies of traditional Chinese medicine,pricking and cupping has the functions of"reducing swelling and detoxifying,removing blood stasis and generating new blood,and inducing evil to go out".Combined with different acupuncture therapies,it has better efficacy in treating herpes zoster.Based on the literature review,from the perspec-tives of theoretical basis,clinical status,and surgical methods,this article summarizes the clinical research on different acupunc-ture therapies combined with pricking and cupping for the treatment of herpes zoster in the past decade.It is believed that this method has significant efficacy in treating herpes zoster and provides certain ideas for the treatment of herpes zoster.At present,there are still some problems that need to be solved urgently:the sample size is small,there is a lack of high-quality random-ized controlled clinical studies;there is a lack of comparison between different acupuncture therapies,and it is impossible to i-dentify the optimal scheme;there is no standardized differentiation of symptoms and treatment and operation methods.
