By consulting the related literatures of HowNet,VIP and PubMed in recent years,this paper analyzed the TCM pathogenesis characteristics of senile scapulohumeral periarthritis,and summarized the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of senile scapulohumeral periarthritis from the aspects of acupuncture site,routine acupuncture and special acupunc-ture.It is found that acupuncture therapy has obvious advantages in relieving pain,improving shoulder joint mobility and shorten-ing treatment course.However,there is a lack of research on the long-term curative effect,reducing the recurrence rate and re-ducing the amount of stimulation.The author put forward the future research ideas through the elaboration and summary of rele-vant literature in order to find a more suitable acupuncture treatment scheme for senile scapulohumeral periarthritis.
