Mechanism of Acupuncture Knife T-shaped Release Surgery in Treatment of Cervical Spondylitis with Nerve Root Type Based on Theory of"Tendons Restraining Bones"
Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR)is a common type of cervical spondylosis, with a complex pathogenesis and diverse treatment methods. This article aims to explore the mechanism of needle knife T-shaped release surgery based on the"tendons restraining bones"theory in the treatment of CSR.The author believes that the possible mechanism of needle knife T-type release surgery for treating CSR is that needle knife T-type release surgery restores external balance of the cervical spine, reduces abnormal stress on the intervertebral disc and vertebral body, improves local blood circulation and regulates the ex-pression of relevant pro-inflammatory and inflammatory factors in the intervertebral disc tissue through mechanobiological signa-ling pathways, thereby delaying intervertebral disc degeneration, relieving mechanical compression of nerve roots by intervertebral discs or osteophytes, improving the nerve function and alleviating the symptoms such as pain and numbness.Meanwhile, needle knife therapy serves as an exogenous stimulus to activate the autoimmune response and further promote tissue repair. This article also discussed the safety and effectiveness of needle knife T-shaped release surgery in clinical applications, and proposed future research directions.
