Study on TCM Etiology and Pathogenesis Framework for Combination of Diabetes Mellitus and Stroke
Both diabetes mellitus and stroke are common diseases in the population,but in recent years,clinical studies have shown that diabetes mellitus and stroke affect each other,causing a heavy burden on patients'daily lives.When diabetes and stroke are combined,the etiology is more complex.Yin deficiency and dry heat in diabetes mellitus may exacerbate Qi and blood disorders,making stroke more likely to occur;conversely,stroke may aggravate diabetes mellitus,forming a vicious circle.Mod-em medical research has shown that hyperglycemic state causes damage to vascular endothelial cells,increases oxidative stress and inflammatory response,leads to atherosclerosis and thrombosis,and induces stroke.This study analyzed the theoretical frame-work of TCM etiology and pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus combined with stroke by combing the classics of TCM,official revision and theoretical academic writings of various medical practitioners as well as the advances and achievements of modern medical re-search,and summarized it into the causative theory of dietary impurity,deficiency of spleen and stomach,emotional disorders,liver Qi stagnation,fatigue and kidney essence deficiency,which can be combined with the modern understanding of diabetes mellitus and stroke,and can exert the guiding role of TCM in clinical treatment of diabetes and stroke.
