Objective:To observe the effect of Chaihu Shugan decoction combined with methimazole in the treatment of hyperthyroidism.Methods:Nnety-two cases were randomly divided into two groups,46 cases in each group.Both groups were given methimazole,and the observation group were additionally given modified Chaihu Shugan Decoction in addition.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of chest fullness,insomnia,irritability,nausea and loose stool,total thyroxine(TT4),free thyroid hormone T3(FT3)and free thyroid hormone T4(FT4)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)was higher than that in the control group.The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Chaihu Shugan Decoction combined with methimazole is effective in the treatment of hyperthyroidism,with fewer adverse reactions.
