Objective:To observe the efficacy of Gualou Guizhi Decoction combined with scalp acupuncture in the treatment of pediatric epilepsy.Methods:Eighty-two patients were randomly divided into a control group(39 cases)and a combined treatment group(43 cases).The control group received conventional treatment,while the combined treatment group received Gualou Guizhi Decoction combined with scalp acupuncture.Results:The total effective rate in the combined treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,GFAP and S-100β levels in both groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels in the combined treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores in both groups were lower after treatment compared to before(P<0.05),with the scores in the combined treatment group lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Gualou Guizhi Decoction combined with scalp acupuncture could improve the efficacy in the treatment of pediatric epilepsy.
