Objective:To observe the curative effect of Tongshe Acupuncture on dysphagia after ischemic stroke(IS).Methods:Eighty cases were randomly divided into two groups, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with routine intervention measures and neuromuscular electrical stimulation(NMES),and the observation group were treated with Tongshe Acupuncture in addition. Results:After treatment, both the Kubota Water Swallowing Test(KWST)and Swallowing Screening Assessment(SSA)scores decreased in two groups, with a more significant reduction observed in the observation group(P<0.05).The total effective rate was higher of the observation group than that of the control group(P<0.05).The maximum peak flow velocity(Vs)and mean flow velocity(Vm)of the vertebrobasilar artery increased, while the vascular resistance index(RI)decreased in both groups. However, the improvements were more significant in the observation group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Tongshe Acupuncture as an adjuvant therapy for dysphagia after stroke could enhance the curative effect.
