Objective:To observe the efficacy of acupressure on Yifeng acupoint as an adjunctive therapy for dysphagia after stroke. Methods:Sixty patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 30 patients in each group. Both groups were treated with neuroelectrical stimulation and swallowing rehabilitation training, and the observation group received acupressure on Yifeng acupoint in addition. Results:After treatment, the scores of the Water Swallowing Test(WST)in both groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Similarly,the scores of the Standardized Swallowing Assessment(SSA)in both groups were also lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),with the observation group showing lower scores than the control group(P<0.05).Moreover,the scores of the Swallowing Quality of Life(SWAL-QOL)questionnaire increased in both groups compared to baseline(P<0.05),and the improvement was more significant in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupressure on Yifeng acupoint could enhance the therapeutic effect as an adjunctive therapy for dysphagia after stroke.
