UNESCO'S New Strategy for Vocational Education:Background,Objectives and Actions
The combination of global economic contraction,demographic structure change,scientific and technological progress,industrialization deficit and anti-globalization trend has deepened the problem of educational inequality and brought unprecedented influences to human society.In response to the above-mentioned crisis and challenges,UNESCO has re-planned the strategic blueprint of vocational education in 2030,aiming at achieving a successful and fair transformation of vocational education through developing skills and moving towards a more digital,green and inclusive economy and society.This strategic action mainly includes seven aspects:flexible learning approaches,optimizing learning certification,adhering to the concept of inclusion,ensuring educational opportunities,popularizing new teaching methods,developing green skills,strengthening subject integration,incorporating STEM literacy,developing teachers,focusing on comprehensive skills,improving governance capacity,releasing new financing,reshaping vocational education institutions and enhancing social integration.
