Research on the Organized Research Model in Japanese Research Universities
The"World Premier International Research Center Initiative"(WPI)is a significant move made by Japanese research universities to respond to the development strategy of"establishing a nation through scientific and technological innovation"through organized research.It has made significant contributions to scientific and technological innovation in Japan with its excellent organized research model.Among them,the"strong matrix"organizational structure and authoritative management of leading talents provide structural guarantees for the implementation of organized research.Standardized collaborative vision,diversified funding support,cross-disciplinary personnel recruitment,and periodic evaluation provide systematic and comprehensive organizational support for organized research in Japanese research universities.Meanwhile,relying on special trust zones,multiple entities weaken disciplinary barriers,establish reciprocal relationships based on knowledge sharing,and promote phased output of achievements in the process of deep cooperation,thereby forming a virtuous innovative ecosystem.To strengthen organized research in Chinese research universities,we should enhance top-level design,form strategic synergies;optimize organizational structures,leverage the exemplary effects of leading talents;improve institutional design,ensure institutional supply;promote interdisciplinary collaboration,enhance endogenous motivation;build an innovative ecosystem and solidify practical support.
