Effect of Qingfei Huatan Decoction on airway mucus hypersecretion in patients with Acute Exacerbation of Bronchiectasis with Phlegm-heat Obstructive Pulmonary Syndrome
Objective To observe the effect of Qingfei Huatan Decoction on airway mucus hypersecretion in patients with acute exacerbation of bronchiectasis with phlegm-heat obstructive pulmonary syndrome.Methods A total of 60 eligible patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group through random number table by software,with 30 cases in each group.The patients in control group were only treated with conventional western medicine,while the patients in treatment group was addi-tionally treated with Qingfei Huatan Decoction on the basis of control group.The treatment was ten days in both groups.Curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome,cough symptom score,the amount of sputum in 24 hours,the levels of mucin5AC(MUC5AC)and neutrophil elastase(NE)in sputum,the levels of inflammatory factors in blood including interleukin-6(IL-6),C reactive protein(CRP),Procalcitonin(PCT)and adverse drug reactions were evaluated and compared between two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate was 93.33%in treatment group,higher than 80.00%in control group(P<0.05).As compared with the levels before treatment,cough symptom score,the amount of sputum in 24 hours,the levels of MUC5AC and NE in sputum,the levels of inflammatory factors in blood including IL-6,CRP,PCT were decreased after treat-ment in both groups,and the decrease in treatment group was more significant(P<0.05).Only 2 cases of mild digestive tract adverse reactions occurred in each group.There was no statistically significant difference.Conclusion Qingfei Huatan Decoction combined with conventional western medicine for patients with acute exacerbation of bronchiectasis with phlegm-heat obstructive pulmonary syndrome can further reduce the levels of airway mucus hypersecretion and inflammatory factors,and the symptoms of cough and sputum were significantly improved,therefore the clinical efficacy is better.
