Effect of Acupuncture on Oxidative Stress in the Liver of Rats with Hashimoto's Thyroidi-tis
Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture on oxidative stress in the liver of rats modeled for Hashimoto's thyroid-itis.Methods Forty healthy female rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, western medicine group and acu-puncture group,10 in each group. In addition to the blank group, the other three groups were prepared as Hashimoto's thyroiditis models, and from the 9th week after successful modeling, the model group and the blank group were fed normally, the western medicine group was treated with selenium yeast gavage, and the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture. In the 14th week, serum TSH,FT3,FT4,TG-Ab,TPO-Ab and ALT were detected by ELISA;MDA,SOD and CAT were measured by biochemical method, and liver tissue was observed by HE staining. Results Compared with the blank group, serum TSH de-creased in the model group(P<0.05),and the levels of Ft3,FT4,TG-Ab,TPO-Ab,ALT,and MDA,SOD,and CAT in-creased in the model group(P<0.05);compared with the model group, serum TSH increased significantly in the acupuncture group and the western medicine group(P<0.05),and the levels of FT3,FT4,TG-Ab,TPO-Ab,ALT and MDA,SOD,CAT levels were significantly lower(P<0.05);compared with the western medicine group, rats in the acupuncture group had higher serum TSH(P<0.05)and lower FT3,FT4,TG-Ab,TPO-Ab,ALT and MDA,SOD,CAT levels(P<0.05).Com-pared with the blank group, there was obvious stasis in the liver tissue of the model group;compared with the model group, the liver stasis was improved in both the acupuncture group and the western medicine group, and the acupuncture group showed better improvement than the western medicine group. Conclusion Acupuncture can significantly improve liver oxidative stress injury, and the therapeutic effect is better than western medicine.
