Objective To study and analyse the clinical efficacy of warm mugwort therapy(a new technology of energy-composite thunderfire moxibustion)in the treatment of non-organic insomnia.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 60 patients with non-organic insomnia who visited the Traditional Chinese Medicine Therapy(TCM)Clinic(TCM Characteristic Nursing Clinic)at Guangzhou Zengcheng District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2023 to June 2023.They were divided into an observation group and a control group according to the difference in treatment methods,with 30 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with Danshen Zaoren Anshen Decoction(a self-prepared traditional Chinese medicine formula),while patients in the observation group were treated with warm mugwort therapy plus Danshen Zaoren Anshen Decoction with modifications.The clinical efficacy and the score of pittsburgh sleep quality Index(PSQI)were compared between the two groups after 4 weeks of treatment.Results The total PSQI scores of both groups were lower after treatment than before,and the total PSQI score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group after treatment,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 86.67%,which was higher than 60.00%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Warm mugwort therapy has a good effect on calming the mind and consolidating the origin,warming the middle and resolving depression,relieving anxiety,improving the function of the internal organs,and helping sleep.It is significantly effective in the treatment of non-organic insomnia,with no adverse reactions and is easily accepted by patients.
