Objective To analyze the clinical effect of modified Xiehuang Powder on dampness-heat type atopic dermatitis(AD)in children.Methods Clinical data of 60 children with dampness-heat type AD admitted to Children's Hospital of Fudan University at Xiamen from February 2022 to February 2024 were retrospectively selected,and divided into a control group and an observation group according to different treatment methods,with 30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine,and the observation group was treated with modified Xiehuang powder and conventional Western medicine.The clinical efficacy,severity of skin lesions,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total clinical effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of scoring of atopic dermatitis scale(SCORAD)and TCM syndrome in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Modified Xiehuang powder is effective in the treatment of dampness-heat type AD,can improve the symptoms of children,reduce the degree of skin lesions,and has high safety.
