Objective To explore the clinical effects of Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture after decompressive craniectomy for traumatic brain injury. Methods A total of 92 patients with traumatic brain injury admitted to Yangjiang People's Hospital from April 2021 to February 2023 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group using a simple randomization method.Patients in the control group received basic treatment after decompressive craniectomy, while patients in the observation group were treated with Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture therapy in addition to the treatment in the control group. The efficacy,The scores of National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)and Glasgow outcome scale(GOS)were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group.Three months after treatment, the NIHSS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group. The GOS scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at 1 month and 3 months after treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture after decompressive craniectomy for traumatic brain injury is beneficial for improving patients'neurological function and reducing poor prognosis.
