The Efficacy of Proactive Health Guidance in the Child Health Care Setting
Objective To investigate the effects of proactive health guidance on the development and behavior of infants and toddlers in child health care. Methods A total of 120 full-term infants and toddlers who underwent routine child health check-ups at the Child Health Management Center of Heyuan Women and Child Health Hospital and health institute from April 2022 to May 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received only routine infant and toddler health care services, while the observation group additionally implemented proactive health guidance for the development and behavior of infants and toddlers. The behavioral and physical development of the infants and toddlers in both groups were compared. Results At 6 and 12 months, the observation group scored higher in gross motor skills, fine motor skills, emotional response, adaptive ability, and social behavior than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 6 and 12 months, the observation group had higher ratios of age to height, age to body weight, and height to body weight than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Proactive health guidance for the development and behavior of infants and toddlers can enhance their behavioral and physical development, which has positive implications for promoting the early physical and mental health development of infants and toddlers.
