Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of Bushen Zhuanggu Decoction in the treatment of primary osteoporosis(OP).Methods A total of 60 patients with primary OP admitted to Dongguan Eastern Central Hospital from March 2023 to March 2024 were selected as the research subjects.They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine,while the observation group was treated with a combination of conventional Western medicine and Bushen Zhuanggu Decoction.The clinical efficacy,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,bone turnover markers,and joint function were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 96.67%,which was higher than the control group's 70.00%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of serum procollagen type I N-terminal propeptide(PINP)and collagen type I C-terminal telopeptide β cross-linked sequence(β-CTX)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,while the level of serum osteocalcin(OC)was higher than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The Oswestry disability index(ODI)score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of patients with primary OP,the combined application of Bushen Zhuanggu Decoction on the basis of existing Western medicine treatment can effectively enhance the therapeutic effect,reduce TCM syndrome scores,and improve bone metabolism indicators and joint function.
