Clinical Study on the Combined Treatment of MGD-Related Dry Eye with Ocular Surface Ultrasonic Atomization,Meibomian Gland Forcep Massage, and Polyethylene Glycol Eye Drop
Objective To analyze the clinical effect of ocular surface ultrasonic atomization+meibomian gland forcep massage+polyethylene glycol eye drop on meibomian gland dysfunction(MGD)-related dry eye. Methods A total of 80 MGD-related dry eye patients who first visited the ophthalmology clinic of the First People's Hospital of Longquanyi District Chengdu from July 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the study objects.According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into a control group[40 cases(80 eyes),hot compress+finger meibomian gland massage+polyethylene glycol eye drop treatment]and an observation group[40 cases(80 eyes),ocular surface ultrasonic atomization+meibomian gland forcep massage+polyethylene glycol eye drop treatment],the clinical effects of different schemes were compared. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, compared with the control group, the observation group had lower scores of ocular surface disease index questionnaire(OSDI),corneal fluorescein staining, palpebral lipid excretion ability and meibomian gland secretion character, and the tear film rupture time was longer, with statistical significances(P<0.05).No serious eye complications occurred in both groups during treatment. The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.00%,which was higher than 80.00%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of ocular surface ultrasonic atomization, meibomian gland forcep massage and polyethylene glycol eye drop in the treatment of MGD-related dry eye can accurately improve the symptoms of eye discomfort, promote the improvement of meibomian gland function, restore the normal secretion of tears, and ensure the clinical treatment effect, and the combined program is relatively safe.
