A large number of studies have proven that there is a very close relationship between vocational education and economic and social development. As an education type that is most closely connected to industries and serves the economy most directly, vocational education makes a particularly important contribution to economic development.Based on the statistical data from 2012 to 2022,the contribution of vocational education in Jiangsu Province to regional economic development was measured by using the C-D production function model and factor analysis method. The results show that the contribution of vocational education in Jiangsu Province to the province"s economic growth fluctuates greatly, with an average annual contribution rate of 1.017%.The fluctuations are affected by factors such as national policies, funding input, and the degree of matching between industry and education. Therefore, the government needs to deepen the construction of the vocational education system, colleges and universities need to continuously optimize the professional structure, and enterprises, schools, and industries need to strengthen mutual exchanges and cooperation.Only in this way can the social service function of vocational education be enhanced and the contribution of vocational education to economic development be increased.
