A Brief Account of Anshun Yixue in the Qing Dynasty
The establishment of Yixue(free private schools)in Anshun during the Qing Dynasty began in the 30th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign(1691)and ended with the implementation of the new educa-tion system at the end of Emperor Guangxu's reign.In the course of its development over the past two hundred years,it showed the characteristics of initial development during the Kangxi and Yongzheng years,the decline during the Qianlong and Jiaqing years,the peak during the Daoguang and Guangxu years,and a large number of Yixue in Anping County.The development of Yixue in Anshun during the Qing Dynasty was influenced and restricted by many factors,including national policies,local officials,and situations.The establishment and development of Yixue in Anshun during the Qing Dynasty was ben-eficial to the construction of the cultural and educational system in Anshun,as well as to strengthening the interaction between the central and local governments and consolidating the ruling order of the Qing gov-ernment.
