The history of pottery production in Yunnan is very long,with pottery fragments discovered at many sites during the Neolithic period,which is about 5 000 years ago.But it was not until the Yuan Dynasty that the production of blue glazed porcelain began in the Yunnan region.This article combines the historical background of Yunnan region and relevant archaeological excavation materials to explore the appearance of porcelain making technology in Yunnan region during the Yuan and Ming dynasties and understand its development process.Research has shown that the porcelain making process in Yunnan is severely lagging behind that of the mainland,and its production and development are significantly influenced by the mainland's porcelain making technology and porcelain production.However,its porcelain has unique ethnic and local characteristics,and its historical significance cannot be underestimated.
