Realism,as a theme of art creation,has influenced the artistic creation of Chinese contemporary ceramic sculp-ture,and has become one of the direct artistic references of Chinese contemporary ceramic sculpture in the past 40 years.No matter when,realism is a classic category in the creation of ceramic sculpture.This paper selects and divides the histori-cal time period,defining the contemporary time period as 1979 to the present.The research content of this paper is divided into three parts:the first part is the definition of contemporary Chinese sculpture;the second part summarizes the realism performance of contemporary ceramic sculpture in time phases;and the third part is the discussion of the interrelationship between realism and ceramic sculpture.
