The preparation of porous ceramics with industrial waste fly ash as the main material has the characteristics of wide source and low cost. However, the chemical composition of fly ash varies greatly due to the origin and the combustion mode of coal.In this paper, the fly ash powder is used as the main raw material. After dry pressing with a small amount of Al2O3 and adhesive, porous ceramics are sintered at a lower temperature. The effects of particle size and calcium oxide con-tent on the properties of porous ceramics were studied. Results indicate that at the same sintering temperature, the particle size of the raw material has a significant impact on the performance of the product.Compared with normal calcium fly ash, porous ceramics prepared from high calcium fly ash have excellent sintering activity, high bending strength and pure water permeability(i.e.,72 MPa and 10 783 L·m-2·h-1·bar-1).
