氧化铒掺杂对粉煤灰基堇青石陶瓷性能的影响

以粉煤灰、滑石、氧化铝和氧化镁为原料,分别添加质量分数为0、0.5%和1.0%的氧化铒,采用高温固相烧结制备堇青石陶瓷.研究了氧化铒的掺入对堇青石陶瓷物相组成、显微结构和性能的影响.结果表明:Er2O3的掺入可促进堇青石相的生成,且掺入0.5 wt.%Er2O3时效果最佳.其通过在低温时形成液相,提高液相中Mg2+和Al3+的迁移速率,以促进反应生成堇青石,从而提高堇青石的转化效率.当Er2O3掺入量为0.5 wt.%时,在1300 ℃烧结温度下,试样物相组成较纯净,杂质相较少,晶型较完整,晶粒无异常长大.在1300 ℃烧结温度下,掺入0.5 wt.%Er2O3试样体积密度为2.095 g·cm-3,显气孔率和吸水率分别为14.86%和7.09%;掺入0.5 wt.%Er2O3试样压缩强度达到149 MPa,较未掺杂试样提高了230%.研究证实,氧化铒作为烧结助剂可明显改善堇青石陶瓷的综合性能.
Effect of Erbium Oxide on Properties of Fly Ash-based Cordierite Ceramics
In this work,cordierite ceramics were prepared by using high-temperature solid-state reaction method,while fly ash,talc,alumina and magnesium oxide were used as raw materials and erbium oxide(Er2O3)was employed as dopant with mass contents of 0,0.5%and 1.0%.The effects of erbium oxide on phase composition,microstructure and physical properties of the cordierite ceramics were studied.Firstly,the doping of Er2O3 promoted the phase formation of cordierite.The optimal doping content is 0.5 wt.%Er2O3.The conversion efficiency of cordierite was increased by forming a liquid phase at low temperatures,thus leading increase in the migration rates of Mg2+and Al3+.Secondly,with 0.5 wt.%Er2O3,after sintering at 1300 ℃,the specimens had single phases,complete crystallization,suitable grain orientation and absence of abnormal grain growth.Lastly,the optimized sample had bulk density of 2.095 g·cm-3,with the apparent porosity and water absorption rate to be 14.86%and 7.09%,respectively.Meanwhile,the compressive strength was 149 MPa,which was 230%higher than that of the undoped specimen.It is confirmed that Er2O3 is a promising sintering aid to significantly improve the comprehensive performance of cordierite ceramics.
