Preparation and Photocatalytic Activity of Oriented Cobalt Tungstate Crystalline Glaze
Cobalt tungstate,as an important catalyst material, has attracted much attention because of its high application value in the functionalization of ceramic surfaces, but the catalytic mechanism is still unclear. In this study, cobalt tungstate crystalline glaze with significant oriented structure was prepared by solid-phase sintering method under specific holding time(8 min). The crystalline glaze showed significant photocatalytic degradation efficiencies for methylene blue and methyl orange, reaching about 78%and 72%,respectively.The crystal structure analysis showed that the(100)crystal plane in cobalt tungstate crystals has the highest surface charge density(1.024),and its large amount of exposure is the key factor leading to the excellent catalytic performance, which provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent design modulation and functionalization of cobalt tungstate crystalline glazes for the application in ceramic industry.
