The Insemination of Sexed Sperms by Laparoscopy Combined With the B-mode Ultrasonography in Sika Deer
Sexing sperm(X or Y)and routine sperm were assessed after thawed. They were evaluated and inseminated into 60 female sika deer which were treated with synchronous estrus, and combined with monitoring the follicular by B-mode ultrasonography.Data analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between B-mode ultrasonography monitoring results of sika deer ovary and laparos-copic insemination fertilization rate;the litter rate of X and Y-type frozen semen was 83.33%,while that of conventional frozen semen was 65.31%,there were significant differences between the X,Y-type frozen semen and conventional frozen semen groups(P<0.05);the sex ratios of off spring(male/female)in conventional frozen semen,X and Y-type frozen semen were 9∶8,0∶10 and 16∶1,respectively.The dif-ference between the groups was significant(P<0.05),and the body weight of the offspring produced by the X,Y-type frozen semen and the conventional frozen semen at birth and 60 days was not significantly different(P<0.05).The results show that the selective laparoscopic artificial insemination of sika deer sex-controlled semen combined with B-mode ultrasonography monitoring can significantly improve the conception rate, reduce costs, and is technically feasible.
