Stress Management in Captive Primates——A Case Study of Tianjin Zoo
Primates have a highly developed central nervous system and complex psychological activities.Under the conditions of captivity,animals are affected by a variety of stress factors,and the stress response is especially prominent,which endangers animal life in serious cases and has a great impact on the protection and breeding of species.In practice,managers often have limited understanding of animal stress.This paper analyzed and classified the common causes,behaviors and manifestations of stress in captive primates,and summarized management methods to reduce animal stress based on years of practice experience,hoping to provide certain help and suggestions for pri-mate breeding and breeding personnel.
