Optimization of 20(S)-protopanaxidiol Microcapsules by Box-Behnken Method
This study aims to optimize the preparation technology of 20(S)-PPD microcapsules.Three significant factors influencing the preparation of 20(S)-PPD microcapsules were determined through single-factor experiments, namely rotational speed, water volume, and wall-to-core ratio. These factors were then set at different levels, and the Box-Behnken response surface method was employed to optimize the preparation process. The experimental results were analyzed using Design-Expert 10 software. The optimal preparation technology for 20(S)-PPD microcapsules was found to be a wall material to core material ratio of 1.17(2 g:1.72 g).The encapsulation rate of the micro-capsules prepared using this optimized process reached 51.05%,close to the predicted value of 52.77%.Additionally,the microcapsules exhib-ited round and uniform size with an addition of 74 mL water at a rotational speed of 208r/min.The combination of single-factor experiments and Box-Behnken response surface method proved accurate, reliable, and feasible in optimizing the preparation process for 20(S)-PPD.
