Effect of Thinning Flowers During the Peak Flowering Period on the Fruiting and Fruit Traits of Blueberries
To explore the effects of different artificial thinning ratios on fruiting and fruit traits of blueberries,this study used five different thinning ratios(0%,15%,30%,45%,60%)for rabbit eye blueberries.The changes in blueberry results and fruit traits were reflected through indicators such as fruit set rate,single fruit weight,yield ratio coefficient,fruit diameter,soluble solid content,titratable acid content,soluble sugar content,and sugar acid ratio.The results showed that compared to the control group,artificial thinning significantly increased the fruit setting rate of rabbit eye blueberries.When the thinning ratio ≥30%,the fruit setting rates reached 94.82%,96.28%,and 96.37%,respec-tively;when the thinning ratio is 45%and 60%,the diameter of blueberry can be significantly increased by 10.49%and 12.63%,respectively;when the thinning ratio was ≥ 30%,it can significantly increased the single fruit weight of blueberries,with an increase of 25.13%,29.2%,and 41.51%,respectively;when the thinning ratio was 30%,the soluble solid content of blueberries was significantly higher than that of other treatment groups;the effect of thinning treatment on blueberry acid content was not significant;When the thinning ratio was 45%and 60%,the soluble sugar content of blueberries can be significantly increased;When the thinning ratio was 60%,the sugar acid ratio was sig-nificantly higher than other treatment groups;when the thinning ratio was 15%and 30%,the yield ratio of blueberries was 1.07 and 1.03.when the thinning ratio was 45%and 60%,the yield ratio significantly decreased to 0.85 and 0.68.Artificial thinning during the peak flo-wering period has a positive effect on the fruiting and fruit traits of rabbit eyed blueberries,while high thinning ratio affects blueberry yield and it's not a suitablethinning ratio for blueberry production.The thinning ratio suitable for rabbit eyed blueberries is 30%.
