In order to meet the needs of radio proximity detection,an vortex electromagnetic waves generation method based on reflective metasurface was proposed.A reflective metasurface antenna was designed with posi-tive feed structure, the feed source adopts standard gain horn antenna.A novel metasurface unit was designed with linear polarization, the unit was of two-layer structure, two square patches were printed on the upper layer of two dielectric plates, the metal floor was printed on the bottom layer of the lower dielectric plate.Simulation results showed that the electric field phase obtained from the simulation at 60 GHz was spirally distributed on the square reference surface, and there was a phase singularity in the center, with clear+1 mode vortex phase distribution characteristics. In addition,a physical prototype of the antenna was fabricated, and laboratory tests showed that the phase distribution of the electric fileds radiated by the antenna or reflected from a steel plate also exhibited vortex patterns.
