Suggestions on Optimizing the Tensile Test Standard for Cold-pressed Terminals
There're now numerous tensile test standards for cold-pressed terminals in the railway industry, but the phenomena including incomplete content, inconsistent test methods and non-unified standards of tensile force value exist widely and are concretely manifested by the following:the same standard of tensile force value applicable to all types of terminals, different test methods for the same terminal in different standards and the inconsistent requirements for the tensile force value of the same terminal with the same test method in different standards, which often puzzles the technicians in choice during the actual application.Meanwhile, the corresponding tensile test standards can't really reflect the significance of the standards. To solve this problem, this article firstly combines the common standards of the industry and the practical applications on site to classify the terminals frequently used in the railway industry;secondly analyzes and compares the scopes of application of the common standards and clarifies the adaptability between different kinds of terminals and different standards;and in the premise of adaptability, proposes a new tensile test method for the same type of terminals with different test methods to make different standards compatible;then compares and analyzes the tensile force values of different standards with the same tensile test method and works out the unified standard of tensile force value in the strictest principle;finally summarizes the tensile test method and the standard of tensile force value to form a proposal and reference for optimizing the tensile test standard of common terminals.
