Taking the non-adhesive granular cargo as the research object,this paper,based on the classical Coulomb's earth pressure theory,adopts the horizontal layer analysis method,analyzes the lateral pressure distribution of granular cargo on the end and side walls of railway freight cars under steady state conditions,deduces the lateral pressure distribution,the combined force and its location formulas of action points under the active and passive states,and obtains the explicit solution of the rupture angle and the critical point of each state by using the graphical method,and gives the research suggestion of the lateral pressure of the granular cargo of railway freight cars.
