Restrictive Factors and Optimization Strategies for Railway Transportation of Imported Iron Ore
Imported iron ore is an important bulk cargo source for railway freight.Amid deepening transportation structure adjustment,it is of great significance to the overall increment of railway freight and the implementation of national policy requirements of"road-to-railway transformation in transportation"to study the countermeasures for the incremental development optimization of imported iron ore railway transportation. This paper expounded China's transportation structure adjustment policy and new requirements for the development of imported iron ore transportation during the"14th Five-Year Plan"period, the development of iron ore imports and the status quo of port distribution of imported iron ore, analyzed four influencing factors, namely, the iron ore market demand fluctuations that restrict the railway transportation of imported iron ore,the railway freight infrastructure equipment that needs to be upgraded, the stability of railway freight products that needs to be improved, and the price of automobile transportation and environmental protection advantages that need to be further enhanced. The paper put forward the countermeasures for the development optimization of railway transport of imported iron ore in five aspects:to further increase the proportion of railway transport of imported iron ore in ports, strengthen the configuration of infrastructure equipment, explore new transport organization mode of railway freight products, optimize the freight rate mechanism of railway freight, and conduct management of major port transport areas in patches.
