Steel logistics centers connect various aspects of steel logistics and scientifically planning the layout of these centers is of vital importance to enhance the efficiency of logistics activities,reduce logistics costs,and improve the quality of logistics services within the center.Taking into consideration the characteristics of steel logistics,this paper studied the function zoning and operational processes of steel logistics centers and proposes principles suitable for the layout of such centers.Four different layout schemes were studied based on whether railway loading and unloading lines enter warehouses and the varying relationships between gantry cranes inside the warehouse and railway loading and unloading lines.The study also provided scenarios where each layout scheme was applicable.Finally,using the example of the Changsha North Freight Yard steel logistics center,this research illustrated the layout of steel logistics centers,offering valuable insights for the planning and design of such centers.
