Analysis of Maritime Shipping Business Mode of Railway Containers and Advantages and Disadvantages
The maritime shipping business of railway containers is a rail-sea multimodal transportation mode featuring"the same container throughout the entire process"launched by China Railway Group to promote the development of a rail-sea intermodal transportation business.Through nearly seven years of development,maritime shipping of railway containers has been gradually recognized by social logistics enterprises and has shown a trend of high growth.In order to meet the requirements of the transformation of railway freight to modem logistics,promoting the maritime shipping of railway containers and rail-sea intermodal transportation vigorously has become the inevitable choice for the development of railway multimodal transportation.Based on the data of the maritime shipping business of railway containers in the years 2022 and 2023,this paper elaborated on the current situation and main maritime shipping business mode of railway containers.It compared the quotation mechanism,container cost,and logistics cost between railway containers and shipper-owned containers and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of railway containers and shipper-owned containers in the rail-sea intermodal transportation business.Finally,this paper put forward the optimization measures for the maritime shipping business of railway containers from the aspects of formulating flexible price mechanisms,increasing the construction of port yards,optimizing business management mode,innovating product management mode,enriching the railway container type for maritime shipping,and expanding overseas railway container yards.
