A Comparative Study of Main Technical Standards of Railway Line Between China and Russia
In order to respond to the Belt and Road Initiative and China's railway"Going global"strategy, this study conducts a comparative analysis to identify the differences in the main technical standards of railway lines between China and Russia in terms of radius of plane curve, length of transition curve, length of intermediate straight line, distance between centers of lines, ruling grade, length of grade section, vertical curve setting etc.The findings include:① Russian railway standards, centered on"railway classification",offer higher flexibility, which is conducive to reducing project investment and increasing economic benefits;② Chinese railway standards focus on"sectional speed"and highlights"service-oriented transportation",which help enhance safety and comfort, and elevate the quality of transportation services;③ The study provides insights for the selection of standards and the revision of design specifications in China-Russia Railway projects, and contributes to formulation of railway connectivity policies between China and countries with a 1 520 mm gauge like Russia.
