In order to find out the causes of abnormal noise in the driver's cab of an electric locomotive, traceability analysis is carried out.By testing frequency of the abnormal noise in driver's cab and analyzing frequency distribu-tion,it is inferred that the abnormal noise comes from the top cover skin of driver's cab.Through vibration tests, acoustic modal tests and analysis of the flow field in the head of the driver's compartment, the formation mechanism of the abnormal noise in the driver's cab is hypothesized. The results show that when abnormal noise occurs in the driver's cab,the vibration acceleration of the interior panel has obvious peak value when the frequency is around 225 Hz,which is closely related to the top cover skin. When the frequency is around 225 Hz,the top cover skin of the driver's cab, interior panel and acoustic cavity in the driver's cab have coupling resonance response, and finally abnormal noise is formed in driver's cab.By adding stiffeners under the top cover of driver's cab,the abnormal vibration frequency from 218 Hz to 232 Hz was eliminated, and the abnormal noise phenomenon in driver's cab do not appear again.
