The T-shaped inspecting instrument for railway track is a T-shaped trolley structure. When measuring the gauge on curves, due to deffects in the measurement principle, inherent errors(D-value error)will be introduced into the measured gauge, leading to the problem of"false gauge".On the basis of analyzing the principle of gauge measurement and D-value error,as well as the impact of D-value error on the accuracy of gauge measurement, the pa-per discusses common methods for dealing with"false gauge"problems, such as short longitudinal beams, linear pa-rameter compensation, and adding an assisted gauge probe, proposes an inertial trajectory compensation method and verifies the effect of gauge compensation on experimental lines. The results show that after using the inertia trajectory compensation, the gauge measured by the T-shaped inspecting instrument for railway track is closer to the actual gauge and meets the requirements of TB/T 3147-2020 Inspecting instruments for railway track. The repeatability and consistency are better than those of the assisted gauge probe compensation method.Based on the analysis of the effec-tiveness of two compensation methods, relevant suggestions for optimizing the standards of inspecting equipment for railway track are proposed.
