Aiming at the problems of long construction period, high cost, and high requirements for line conditions of the detecting device for overload and unbalance load of rail wagons installed on existing lines,a detecting device for overload and unbalance load of rail wagons using dual shear force sensors is designed. On the basis of introducing the design principle of a detecting device for overload and unbalance load of rail wagons using dual shear force sensors, this paper analyzes the overall technical requirements and design scheme of this kind of detecting device for overload and unbalance load of rail wagons. The measurement uncertainty of the detecting device for overload and unbalance load of rail wagons using dual shear force sensors is evaluated, and verification and application certification are conducted. The results show that the uncertainty of weight measurement results at each weighing point of the detecting device for over-load and unbalance load of rail wagons using dual shear sensors is less than 1/3 of the maximum allowable weighing er-ror,which meets the requirements of metrological performance;verification results of the weight, unbalance load, and eccentricity rate all meet the design requirements;compared with the weight, deviation, and deviation rate measured by the existing detecting device for overload and unbalance load of rail wagons, the deviation of the weight, unbalance load deviation, and eccentricity rate of the detecting device for overload and unbalance load using dual shear force sensors is relatively small, and the accuracy of detection results meets the requirements of freight safety detection.
