A megohmmeter is mainly used to measure the resistance values of various insulation materials,as well as the insulation resistance of electrical equipment such as transformers,motors,cables,etc.There is a risk of electric shock for operators before the megohmmeter stops rotating or the measured object discharges during testing.To this end,based on the introduction of the composition and operation steps of the megohmmeter,two kinds of the safety pro-tection device during operation of the megohmmeter are developed,and verification tests and comparative analysis are conducted.The results showed that the accuracy of the insulation resistance value measured by the megohmmeter are not affected after two kinds of design scheme of the safety protection devices are in stalled separately,and injuries from electric shock to operators can also be prevented.
