Determination of Antibacterial Performance of a New Long Acting Photocatalytic Disinfectant on Passenger Trains
The antibacterial performance of a novel long-acting photocatalytic disinfectant applied in passenger trains was evaluated.A noval long-acting photocatalytic disinfectant was sprayed on the inner surface of the train carriages of a certain railway ordinary and high-speed passenger trains.Sterile cotton swab was applied to the same area of the train surface at different points in the experimental and control groups, which was further cultured in the laboratory and smeared on the plate for colony counting. The results showed that the colony count of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group(n=9,P<0.05)on the tray table, seat backrests, inner and outer walls of the toilet, and under the luggage rack of the ordinary and high-speed railway trains. The bacterial count at various points of the experimental group of the ordinary and high-speed trains is significantly lower than the hygiene limit for public goods and tools in public places.(≤300 CFU/25 m2).These show that the new long-lasting photocatalytic disinfectant can significantly reduce the bacterial count on the surface of passenger train objects, and has long-lasting and excellent antibacterial properties.
