Study on Mechanical Characteristics of Support Resistance Limiting Damper and Its Application in Deep Buried Old Loess Tunnel
In order to further explore the stress characteristics of the tunnel yielding support resistance-limiting support(RLS)based on the support resistance-limiting damper(SRLD),the mechanical properties and constitutive relation-ships of SRLD were systematically expounded by using numerical calculation and data fitting methods based on indoor test results, and the numerical simulation method was proposed for RLS.Numerical calculations simulating the engineer-ing applications were conducted to analyze the deformation and stress characteristics of RLS under different parameters. The results show that the mechanical properties of SRLD are related to the height and thickness of vertical plates, and the prefabricated bending of vertical plates can make the performance of SRLD controllable. The SRLD is simulated using strain softening/hardening solid elements and elastic orthotropic membrane elements.Due to the incomplete utilization of compression capacity of SRLD,a smaller constant resistance value will significantly reduce the axial force but also in-crease the bending moment of RLS,which is beneficial for the prevention of small eccentric compression failure but in-creases the risk of large eccentric compression failure. The rational compression value of the SRLD is 7~12 cm.It is rec-ommended to optimize the SRLD by lowering, thickening, and bending its vertical plates in deep buried old loess tunnel to further increase construction efficiency and reduce costs.
