The uniformity of carbide banding in GCr15 steel is one of the important factors affecting bearing fatigue performance.This paper studies the influence of soft reduction,different high temperature diffusion time and controlled rolling and cooling process on carbide banding in bearing steel.The results show that by using soft reduc-tion on continuous casting 390mm×510mm rectangular billet,increasing the high temperature diffusion time of the billet,and combining with the controlled rolling and controlled cooling process,a wide band of carbide can be obtained,but the particles are fine and dispersed,and the comprehensive rating is≤1.5.The carbide banding meets the requirements of GB/T18254-2016.
