The static CCT curve, austenite grain growth behavior and precipitated phase characterization of SAE5120H steel were studied by thermal simulation testing machine, high temperature microscope, scanning electron microscope and trans-mission electron microscope. The results show that when the cooling rate of the steel is less than 1℃/s,the main ferrite beads and pearlite are formed at room temperature. As the cooling rate increases, the ferrite beads and pearlite gradually disappear, and bainite and martensite are formed until all are transformed into martensite. The pseudo-carburizing temperature of the steel is 970℃and no mixed crystal is produced. The grain growth rate of austenite is different in different original microstructure, the ferrite and pearlite structure is the fastest. The micro precipitates in samples with uniform grain size are finer and more dispersed.
