Effect of Sintering Time on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ti2AlNb Alloy Prepared by SPS
Ti2AlNb alloy was prepared by high-energy ball milling and spark plasma sintering(SPS),and the effects of different sintering time on microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti2AlNb alloy were investigated.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)and X-ray diffractometer(XRD)were used to characterize the microstructure and phase composition of the alloy, and the tensile properties of the alloy were tested using a universal tensile testing machine. The results show that the sintering time can't change the phase composition of the alloy, and the Ti2AlNb alloys prepared under different sintering time are composed of B2 phase, cytosolic α2 phase, and acicular O phase.Under the conditions of sintering temperature of 1000℃,sintering time of 70 min and pressure of 50 MPa,the acicular O phase distributes uniformly, and the number is larger, the tensile strength of the alloy reaches 454.6 MPa at room temperature.
