Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ti6554 Alloy Rod after Extrusion Forming
The effects of different heat treatment processes on the microstructure and mechanical properties of small-size Ti6554 alloy extrusion rods were researched by metallographic microstructure analysis,room temperature tensile properties test and fracture morphology observation.The results show that the Ti6554 alloy extrusion rod at low temperature solid solution treatment(780℃/1 h/AC)helps to refine the grain,while the high temperature solid solution treatment(830℃/1 h/AC)significantly eliminates the compositional segregation and improves the organization uniformity.The solid solution and aging treatment will increase the strength of the material,but it will also reduce the plasticity of the material accordingly.Based on comprehensive analysis,the optimal solid solution and aging process for Ti6554 alloy extrusion rods is 780℃/1 h/AC+480℃/8 h/AC.
